Marynia R. Cheatham, 96, formerly of Richmond, VA, died Sunday, April 24, 2011 at her Murrells Inlet, SC residence. She is the mother of Mrs. Jane C. Taylor of Murrells Inlet.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Cheatham was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Murrells Inlet, SC.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2011 at Scott Funeral Home in Richmond, VA.
Burial followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Richmond, VA.
Mrs. Cheatham was born July 29, 1914 in Richmond, VA to Mr. William Randolph and Mrs. Hattie Elizabeth Jordan-Randolph.
She was educated in the Richmond County, VA public school system, and later attended VCU (MCV) Medical College of Virginia, obtaining a Nursing Degree.
She later worked for the State of Virginia as a public health nurse for many years until retiring.
Her survivors include two daughters, Jane C. Taylor of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Rita C. White of Dallas, TX; one son, Calvin W. Cheatham, Jr., of Newnan, GA; and one sister, Edith R. Holmes of Alexandria, VA.
Funeral service arrangements were entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
James Richardson, Sr.
James Earl Richardson, Sr., 40, of 51 Atkinson Lane, Pawleys Island, SC, departed this life Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Waccamaw Community Hospital, Murrells Inlet, SC.
Services were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at St. John AME Church in Pawleys Island, SC with Rev. Alford L. Buckner, officiating.
Burial followed in the Church Cemetery under the direction of McKnight-Fraser Funeral Homes.
A Wake Service was held Friday, April 29, 2011 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Church.

Mr. Richardson son of Irvin and Albertha G. Richardson, Sr. was born May 24, 1970 in Georgetown, SC, he attended Georgetown County Schools.
Survivors are his parents, Irvin Richardson and Albertha Richardson, Pawleys Island, SC; his children, James Earl Richardson, Jr. and Dakatu Sierra Richardson; and his sisters and brothers, Ervina Lang, Florence, SC, Janie Smith, Daisy Greene, Herbert Richardson, Tony Richardson, Kwami Richardson of Pawleys Island, SC and Irvin Richardson of Africa.
Richard Toemmes
Richard Edward “Dick” Toemmes, 67, husband of 42 years of Pamela M. Toemmes died Friday, April 29, 2011, at his residence.
Born January 1, 1944 in Ottumwa, Iowa, he was the son of the late Vernell Eugene Toemmes and Sarah Maurine Toemmes. Mr. Toemmes was a U. S. Army Veteran. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he worked for the S. C. State Department of Education and his love of fishing and hunting brought him to Georgetown in 1978. He worked for the Georgetown County School District as an Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent and as the Director of Operations and The Director of Computer and Technology Services for the school district. After retiring from the school district, he started his own computer repair business, Computer Resource.
Mr. Toemmes was an active scout leader with the Boy Scouts of America in the 1980’s and an original member of the Keep Georgetown Beautiful Committee. He enjoyed life and spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by: his wife of Georgetown; his daughter, Sarah Melissa Toemmes of Pawleys Island; his son, Michael Brian Toemmes (Ranie) of Georgetown; and his two precious granddaughters, Elizabeth Caroline Toemmes and Anna Marguerite Toemmes, both of Georgetown. His is also survived by his brother, Thomas V. Toemmes (Connie) of Ankeny, Iowa; his aunt, Sabella M. Harness of Ottumwa, Iowa; his mother-in-law, Lucille E. Meany of Georgetown; and nieces.
Funeral services were held at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 4 p.m. with family visitation at the church following the service.
