Police blotter: Pawleys teen charged with disorderly conduct

Published Thursday, August 11, 2011 9:54 PM

Deputies were rushed to the 200 block of Annie Rainey Drive in Pawleys Island the morning of Aug. 5 because of a report of gunfire.
There were reportedly two male juveniles involved. One of them — a 16-year-old — was spotted by the responding officers as he was walking on Martin Luther King Road.
One of the officers asked the teen to show his hands. He responded by cursing at the deputies so the deputy drew his gun and once again told the teen to show his hands.
This time the teen obeyed.
As the officer was patting the suspect down,  he was loud and boisterous, so he was placed in handcuffs.
He said he did not know where the other juvenile was located.
The teen was taken to jail for disorderly conduct.
The report does not mention any charges for the alleged discharging of a gun which prompted the call.

Stolen golf clubs

A set of golf clubs worth more than $1,000 were reported stolen from a 72-year-old Pawleys Island man.
Deputies met with the man at his home on Deacon Court in the Traditions community July 31.
He said the clubs were taken from his vehicle. He said he last saw the clubs July 28 and noticed they were gone July 30.
The man said the vehicle had been left unlocked.

Information  is subject to change as the investigation proceeds. Individuals arrested and/or charged have not been convicted.
