Police Blotter: Numerous thefts from vehicles

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating another slew of thefts from vehicles that have occurred in recent days — especially on the Waccamaw Neck.
• In the 200 blcok of Masters Drive in Pawleys Island Aug. 9, someone took a $339 GPS unit from an unlocked vehcile.
• In the 100 block of Sandy Knowe Lane in Pawleys Island Aug. 10, someone took a Samsung notebook computer from an unlocked truck.
• In the 1800 block of Dolphin Street in Murrells Inlet, Aug. 10, someone took two Ipods and a keyboard from two different vehicles parked on the same property.
• In the 1700 block of Dolphin Street in Murrells Inlet, Aug. 10, a vehicle registration and insurance card were taken from a vehicle.
• In the 1600 block of Dolphin Street, Aug. 10, someone took $220 in cash from a car that may have been left unlocked.
• In the 700 block of Underwood Drive in Murrells Inlet, Aug. 10, someone took $5 in change from a vehicle.
• In the 400 block of Tyson Drive, Pawleys Island, Aug. 11. Three vehicles on the same property were broken into — one was a yellow taxi.
An Ipod, $100 in cash were taken.
• In the 100 block of Pawleys Place, Aug. 9, someone took an XM sattelite receiver was taken from a vehicle.



Man assaults niece

A 46-year-old Georgetown man is facing serious charges pending the outcome of an investigation that he sexually assaulted his 13-year-old niece who lives in Georgia.
The girl’s mother said the alleged incident happened while the teen was visiting her relatives in Georgetown in June.
The teen told her mother she was asleep one night when the man walked in her bedroom and raped her by force.
The woman took her daughter to the hospital to be tested.

Woman accuses father

A woman from Parkersville Road in Pawleys Island said when she went to sleep Aug. 10, there was more than $700 in the back pocket of her pants.
She said when she woke up only $180 remained.
The woman said she thinks her 51-year-old father took the cash because, she said, he was upset when she refused to loan him $20 to buy drugs.
The man denied the allegations, saying he would never do that to his daughter.
